90 Health Ministry officials COVID-19 positive

Exclusive Health Bulletin: At least 90 people of the Health and Family Welfare Minister have been infected with coronavirus, according to media report.

Sheikh Yusuf Harun, secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, however, considers the infection of a large number of officers-employees in a ministry who stay at ministry’s safe place is abnormal.

He also raised question regarding their hygiene.

The number of coronavirus infected patient is increasing in the country. Also, the death caused by coronavirus infection is increasing immensely. Different allegations of mismanagement in the health sector are being raised randomly. At this time, the Health Ministry should be very active. But the ministry is now facing huge threat of corona.

According to obtained information, there are 300 people in heath service department of the health ministry at the secretariat while 180 people are working in the health education department now. Among those people, 90 people are now infected with coronavirus or COVID-19.

Twenty people were detected as COVID-19 patients in one day in last week.

Public Administration Secretary Sheikh Yusuf Harun said, “This is very abnormal. If all employees of the Health Ministry are infected with coronavirus then who will provide us healthcare services? The officers are not taking care themselves and not following health guidelines.”

Admitting the number of infection, health minister Zahid Maleque  said the issue of keeping fit is being given priority so that it would possible to continue works.

“They have not been infected in one day. As per the information of the ministry, 90 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Those we are in sound health are not taking rest for a single hour,” said Zahid Maleque.

The heath minister also said the officers and employees who came in contact with those 90 employees of the ministry have been sent to isolation.
